Well, I wasted a few precious dollars, on Curad "ouchless" tape for sensitive skin, and found out it was very "ouchy."

Anyone else try this tape?

Taking off any tape will hurt...not a bad idea to get an adhesiver remover wipe (they come in a box of 100) or even a spray...that will take the ouch out of anything.;)

KT tape is awesome I don't know if anyone else has tried it but, it is very flexable, easy to deal with, and pretty ouch less. Only a couple of downsides you pretty much get only one chance to get it on right or it stops being sticky easily and it is pretty expensive. I think its worth it for the comfort.

I have not tried curad, just 3M Micropore Paper and Rejuveness.

Note that you can make it more comfortable and easier to remove tape by:

1) wearing for longer time periods. I used to keep tape going 3 days, even with showers. But after 24 hrs, it becomes easier to remove. I currently wear it for 24 hrs.

2) soaking. I typically take my tape off at the end of my shower. It comes off easily. If I do not do that, but instead soak it for a couple minutes, it will come off, but not as easily or as comfortably.

3) roll your skin off the tape, rather than pulling or rolling the tape off your skin. Sounds silly, but makes a big difference.

tapes come off right away with Citri-Med adhesive remover. google it. when i first started restoring i foolishly would spend so much time trying to peel tape off, then I tried removal in the shower even thought I already took a shower. Now just a spray of Citrimed, off comes the tape and I smell like oranges :)

Thaks for the helpful replies, everybody.

glittleblue, is KT tape widely available in stores, or is it an item I'll have to order online?

I doubt a tape exists that is "ouchless" on removal, and has strong enough adhesive for tugging purposes.

you can find it at sporting goods stores (Dicks, sports authority) just looked Wal-Mart even carries it. its going for approx. $13 a roll which are pre-cut and extra large roles that are not cut. it comes in different colors beige, black, pink, blue they are all the same, color has no significance. I use the blue one it was given to me for my knees, and ankles but, turns out it works great for this as well. Just now that the pre-cut roll is cut in two ways its really hard to explain how but, if you get a roll you will see what I am talking about. Earlier i mentioned its flexibility, it also holds well, water resistant and it says that it is meant to wear for up to 5 days. I know it lasts at least a full day with full physical activities. they do have a pretty good website so if you look it up i'm sure any other questions you have could be answered there. The website also has a demo video on the tape.

I use Micropore and remove slowly and gently in the shower.

glittleblue:

Yesterday, I went to Walmart, and didn't find KT tape there.

What I did find at Walmart, after asking the salesman, Tourina Grip, and Tourina Tac tapes for wrapping tennis racket handles with.

Also, Riddell athletic tape for ankles and hands, with the soccer supplies.

I will check and see if any Dick's and/or Sports Authority stores are in my area.

Again, many thanks for your posts to this thread.

Well, fellow FRs, I tried using the Curad Ouchless tape again, and while I my tape removal skills have improved since I made the first post to this thread, I will say that this time, Curad Ouchless left a lot more tape residue, which was more trouble to remove, than that left by Johnson & Johnson and 3M tapes.
