Hi,

How can I help with things in the UK? Are there any well-known campaign groups over here I could join?

What's the political environment related to circumcision there? It seems the UK is far-enough along already that 50%+1 acknowledge circumcision is unnecessary and cruel. So is there a realistic chance it could be made illegal in the UK?

I'm American, so I don't know enough about the population/political system there.

The truth hasn't toppled yet. There is no widespread condemnation of it, and only a few brave journalists talk about it. If you mention it to most people, they get shy and dont want the conversation or just laugh. You're right though, its more of a problem in the USA. If the UK condemned it, these places would cease to exist surely

All the time these arseholes are allowed to carry on doing this legally here, the UK is turning a blind eye to it.

That's very strange and disheartening. At least in America, I can understand why American men are so wedded to the ritual - they hate to admit they were screwed.

But UK men don't have this same excuse. Maybe there's a fear of being labeled insensitive to other religions/cultures?

Check out Men Do Complain (http://www.mendocomplain.com). It is a UK site fighting against circumcision.

They link to Genital Autonomy (http://genitalautonomy.org/) and NORM-UK (http://www.norm-uk.org/), both UK intactivist groups.

We dont complain much, we let our civil liberties get erroded all the time, and we will soon be forced to wonder why we're the most surveillanced country in the world, yes, the world! But, usually, (as the saying goes): when the USA sneezes, the UK get's a cold. It was amazing that both our governments at the same time decided to propose new powers to spy on every single citizen with their internet and phone lives. It happened here, and low and behold, I discovered it was happening in the US too. They want us to feel insecure about blowing whistles and complaining, instead of encouraging people to express themselves as would be healthy in a progressive and democratic society. I know, it's all to easy to point the fingers at government when many cut men do manage to live their lives in denial. I blame the government, because they are supposed to encourage scientific research in order for the citizens to get fair treatment. To me, ensuring and confirming that the practice of infant circumcision was not harmful in any way, should have been addressed many years ago, but it just got buried in the taboo of sex. I am contantly amazed at this since coming out of denial. The sooner we can get over our sexual hang-ups in society, the sooner we can move on and make for a better future.

The Western governments are (for the most part) constantly working to harmonize their laws and finances. It's called the "Anglosphere" among academics. Their ultimate goal is to eliminate competition between countries so that it becomes virtually impossible for people and businesses to escape their taxation and regulations.

Can you tell I'm a libertarian? ;)
