Women's rights groups and social policy makers also condemned the decision, but for the reason that it would have the effect of putting male and female circumcision on the same footing, when they were "in no way comparable", said Katrin Altpeter, social minister in the state of Baden-Württemberg. Female circumcision she said, was a far more drastic act.

Ja ich bin satt von der Heulchelerei und Ignoranz der Welt. Ich kann auch nicht gut Deutsch weil ich Amerikaner bin (interessant, dass sogar an die Deutsche forum gibt's Fremde, weil die Meisten von Deutscher nicht beschneiden sind, oder? Ja aber ich wohne jetzt in diese Land und werde hier bleiben. Ich bin deshalb naturlich unzufrieden mit den neuen Ereignisse des Bundes (government) nach dem gute Urteil des Kölnisches Gericht

ich hab nix über MGM oda FGM gehört. stimmt ihr zu?

Can't see the video, but I read some quotes in other articles and apparently her point is mostly about FGM being far more severe. She acknowledges that male circumcision infringes children rights and that this has to be taken into account when passing new legislation. She seems to lean towards allowing male circumcision, but obviously has some doubts. I sent her a long and polite email explaing our case and asking her not to underestimate the traumas and sexual problems of male circumcision just because FGM might be even more severe. I also asked to protect both the rights of girls and boys.

I've sent dozens of similar emails the last days.
