I have concluded to share this, especially since noting that the infamous-doctor-visit-where-you-confuse-the-doc seems to be a well-known restoration highlight here.

In the last part of my physical (the male organs/testicular exam), my doctor reacted most curiously - this occurance truly surprised me in that I myself was actually experiencing first-hand what I had read here.

I will try to quote what he said.

Even before I pulled my pants down, I could feel that my glans, of all times, was at least partly covered (it turned out that I was right), so I started to get nervous. Squatting down, examining the testicles, he said right away, with slightly disappointed surprise (kind of aside to himself): "Were you - why weren't you - ?" Then, "....a medical reasons?" said he slowly in friendly, distant thoughfulness. "Yes. Yes - I was," was what I tried to say simultaneously, but not sure if he heard me over himself. I did not feel defiant, angry or anything, but more of a proud, powerful: Whoa! Yes!

Thank you for reading and have a good one

OK, those were the words the two of you said, but what information was exchanged? Seems to me all you told him is that you were circumcised. If I'm correct, all he understood was that according to his lights whoever did the dirty deed did a peculiar, half-assed job of it.

Didn't you tell him you are restoring?

Hey,
Too many other things were going through me at that moment, and I think my tongue was tied; so I do not believe much happened (information-wise) besides giving a head-scratching moment to the doc.
The way he said the above was as if he was putting 1+1 together, and when he got 3 instead of the logically predictable 2, he got a little perplexed for a minute.

Congrats! Love these stories. I remember my first too. My doctor told me to be extra careful during sex as to not catch an STD. He said "because you're uncircumcised you're more prone to catch STD's. I just said "okay", but woohoo!

Are you restored or intact? I don't want to assume.

No sweat. I'm restored. I started with a CI2, maybe a 3 (it's been a few years), what I was "left" with At the time I had my physical I was a CI6, which I stayed at for several years. I just started again and I'm at a CI7 with the goal of CI 8 or 9.

Perhaps you'll have to explain to him that you are restoring, next time you see him. Otherwise he'll merely believe you had one weird cut. It's valuable information for him. Next time someone asks for a "circumcision", he'll have to think twice about agreeing to do it. Also, he'll talk about restoration next time he's having coffee with other doctors, so the fact of foreskin restoration will be transmitted to more and more doctors.

As far as being tongue-tied while standing nude in front of a doctor, I was there only two weeks ago. I even prepared a paper list of things to ask/tell him, but his manner was so abrupt and dismissive that I plumb forgot several things until long after. I don't know if he was having a bad hair day or what ... but sometimes doctors can lack a good bed-side manner. Next time I'll hand him my list and let him deal with it. Try that ploy yourself.

Wow - that's certainly practical. I wonder what he would have said if I told him about restoration?
It is strange too, because since the pysical, there has been no partial coverage of the glans again - maybe it was meant to happen! I can't wait until I 'get there' (like others here) - when he has to ask me to retract.
