View Full Version : TLC Tugger Questions

I purchased a TLC tugger back in November last year. I have been wearing it for about 10 hours a day on average with the odd day off where it's not possible to wear due to sport or other circumstances. I don't wear any device to bed as i am a light sleeper and can't get a solid nights sleep with anything on.
I strap around my waist and change from side to side each day.
When i strap i don't have a massive amount of tenison pulling across my body, just enough to keep me dressed to the left or right depending on the day. I wear undies over the top that are fairly tight and they also help to keep everything in place.
Should i be aplying more tension then this?
I am starting to notice on my days off where i haven't worn the tugger that a small amount of skin is normally just covering the edge of my corona. With the scar not visible at all.
Also after i play sport or go to the gym i normally find that i am fully covered, mainly due to my penis shrinking in close to my body. This doesn't happen on cold days, only after sports... is this normal?
I've also been reading about inner and outer skin.
From what i have gathered the inner skin is the skin from the scar to the corona and the outer skin is from the scar back to your abdomen
What i don't understand is how you know which type you are targeting?
When i first got the TLC i would only roll a small amount of skin over the tugger and place the skin cone on, then apply the straps.
I saw a video demonstration of Ron putting the TLC Tugger on and in it he mentioned to roll as much skin as you can up the end of the Tugger.
I have been doing this method lately which i find easiest to do straight after a warm shower. It gets harder to reapply with the same amount of skin later in the day.
Is it better to put more or less skin inside the TLC Tugger?
Will this target inner or outer skin differently?

Hi,
I don't wear any device to bed as i am a light sleeper and can't get a solid nights sleep with anything on.
Even wearing the retaining cone is out?
I strap around my waist and change from side to side each day. When i strap i don't have a massive amount of tenison pulling across my body, just enough to keep me dressed to the left or right depending on the day. I wear undies over the top that are fairly tight and they also help to keep everything in place.

Gentle tension will grow skin, but how do you know if you're TOO gentle? I used to tell people to use a about a pound of tension because that felt good for me and I was showing progress. Then I figured out that the same pound of tension can result in different stress depending the thickness of your skin and your girth.
So now I use a different benchmark. Assuming you have a device fitting you properly, I say start with the least tension you can use that will keep the device snugly in place. Then sneak the tension up every few days until getting through 4 straight hours (a typical interval between trips to the john, with rest and re-application) is a challenge for the gripping comfort - and then back off some tension.
For nighttime you'll need a different less-aggressive setup due to nocturnal erections and since you need to last 8 hours.

That's great. Sounds like progress. I think the most repeatable and indicative measure of progress is forced erect coverage (http://www.foreskin-restoration.net/forum/showpost.php?p=13490&postcount=1). How far can you force skin onto the glans while you are erect? Measure monthly and write it somewhere.

As you progress, you'll hit certain milestones, like the first time you get erect and notice your skin is still clinging to the corona for a second, or the first time you finish a hot shower still covered flaccid, or the first time you finish having intercourse and find your slack skin drawn over the glans by the action of your partner clinging to your flaccid shaft. The more slack you have, the more of these you'll witness, more often. Normal.

Tensioning your skin does target all the skin. In fact, any application that tries to target strictly inner and not outer (or vice-versa) is doomed to work itself loose quicker than otherwise, or at least re-adjust itself until inner/outer equilibrium is reached.
But we also have to be careful talking about inner and outer. There is the natural inner skin from the glans down to where your scar is and beyond that, to where your skin would have rolled over at the skin-tube tip to transition to outer. The "outer foreskin" of an intact guy is really just a name for the part that's easiest to cut off. The penile skin is just a continuous system with - as you describe - inner and outer. But we cut men have this third identifiable zone; outer skin that survives on our shaft.
With a simple Tugger or with tape you can target the inner skin more by forcing the tug closer to the glans. With a Tugger, just get slightly erect before applying the device and you will induce a temporary roll-over point closer to the glans and then when you tug, more of the strap tension will go toward the inner skin where it is countered by the whole penile shaft. Conversely, get really flaccid and roll as much skin onto the device as you possibly can and you'll induce a roll-over point closer to the base for more outer tension that is countered at the base where the skin transitions to your body.
I saw a video demonstration of Ron putting the TLC Tugger on and in it he mentioned to roll as much skin as you can up the end of the Tugger.

I say in general to roll as much skin onto a device as you comfortably can to get skin near the pointy end to be gripped. You may say: "but then I have so much skin trapped between the two pieces. It's not being stretched." It's not so. Once you apply the retaning cone, you can hold it there while you help the skin near the wide end of the cone slip out of the gripping area. The gripping is happening only near the pointy end. Experiments with clear retaining cones proves this.
Cheers,

Thanks for the prompt response Ron.
I haven't tried the retaining cone at night. I don't really see the advantage of wearing it just yet. My glans is still fully exposed. Maybe when i get a bit more coverage i might use it.
I plan on keeping a diary, so i will get that started very shortly.
I haven't been using the forced erect coverage as a guide.
I will take measurements and start monitoring this with a close eye.
Also when forcing the skin away from the body to take a measurment, alot of my scrotom skin is stretched to make up the skin, especialy on the underside. Is there a specific way to encourage more skin growth on the under side of the penis?
It seems i have alot more skin on top then underneath.
