Hi everyone, I am in the process of restoring and was curious about everyone's doctor's reactions. Did you tell your doctor? If you didn't say anything, did your doctor say anything or notice? Just curious as I have a doctors appointment in a while and was curious how to approach it.

I told my primary care physician (who was not interested) and my urologist (who was, and I gave him a NORM brochure). Neither one said anything to me to indicate they thought it was weird. I would imagine most doctors get really weird stuff from time to time, so my restoring wasn't all that strange. (I did not wear my device to my appointments, by the way.) ;)

When you fill out a history, don't forget to include "circumcision" under prior surgeries.
I put non-surgical foreskin restoration on my form in a section on the 4th and final page titled: "Any procedures to the genitals (private parts)?" which I think they include just so the doctor isn't taken by surprise by your piercings and stuff. So the doctor interviews me while leafing through the history, and when he got to that final section during the exam he stared at it for a LONG time and then didn't say anything.
I've managed to stay covered for each of the 3 annual exams I've had with this guy. He always saves the rectal finger poke and then the genital inspection for last. Seated in front of me (I'm standing), he gently lifts my penis and nudges the skin tube back ever so slightly (like a 16th of an inch, not to retract me) to make sure I'm not oozing anything or inflamed.

My docs have always pushed the restored foreskin all the way back, to inspect the glans. I understand that this is common among U.S.-trained doctors, with their foreskin-phobia, and in Europe and Canada the foreskin is only retracted if the man says he has a problem that necessitates looking at the glans. I don't know if that's true or not.
My new internist, whom I have only seen for a new-patient physical last fall, examined my genitals while I was lying down -- a first. When he examined my testicles for any suspicious bumps (that could indicate cancer), his pulling on the scrotum retracted my foreskin (since I don't have that natural frenar band to keep it in place), so he didn't have to retract it directly.
This was fine with me. Twice when my urologist retracted my foreskin and then touched my glans as he examined it for bumps or whatever, I had an erection. I was completely embarrassed and red-faced, but he didn't react. I guess he sees erections during exams from time to time and it is rather routine for him. It wasn't routine for me! :o I'd rather not have that happen again!

my urologist is one of those rare doctors that isn't so much concerned if there is a foreskin or not, if there is one, he is more concerned to make sure that there is no infection or cuts.
when I first went to him 3 years ago for kidney stones, he did ask in his pre-examination interview if I had been circumsized or not, so naturally I told him that I was as an infant, and he said "Well, it'll be ok, there are worse things that can happen."
which tells me that he doesn't believe in circumcision, he is a very very good doctor, he is the only urologist that I would even consider going to, I am sure that he will be surprised the next time I go to see him that I will have extra skin (hopefully some coverage), I am sure that he will ask about it, but he will be supportive.

Hello:
My urologist only commented "you have been only partially circumcised", not true, I was totally circumcised but restored by natural ocurrence while an early teenager, this is how successful my restoring was....I used to invent any method (taping was the easiest one), but would cover the glans every time I could, with time passing (years) I have become completely covered while flaccid and totally retracted while erect, isnt that nice ??:)
