I came across this some time ago and I have now found it again. I initially thought it was a joke, but apparently not. This might offer some hope for those of us that would like to see medical science get more involved.
The first link is for the article that got my attention and the second is for the website of the company that is developing the technology. It appears that the artificial skin develops into real skin over time. It's very interesting.

You may very well be right, however, I just read the promising infor that ACell relayed to a member here. Looks to me like ACell is about to open the package on this thing. When they do, other companies will follow. This will be good as the competition will keep prices down. Although, I suspect the cost will still be rather steep.
