What do you say about it?

I think any article that fails to mention

Cantate Domino: "The Holy Roman Church ... strictly orders all who glory in the name of Christian, not to practise circumcision either before or after baptism, since whether or not they place their hope in it, it cannot possibly be observed without loss of eternal salvation." (affirmed by popes every century since 1442)

is not worthy of the term encyclopedia.

I just contacted the author of that page. And I shared with him, the information that Ron quoted. (I hope you dont mind, Ron). After quoting that bit, I said "perhaps you should include this info in your so-called encyclopedia."

It seems that some Catholic people like the author of that encyclopedia didn't want to give complete information in order to hide some facts of circumcision.

It seems that the church is still confused for circumcision case which must be prohibited or not by the church.
I think that the church should prohibit the circumcision among its followers.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Well, a big disadvantage of circumcision is the loss of sexual pleasure, and we all know what the Catholic Church thinks in regards to sexual pleasure.

(i.e. it's bad)

Uh guys, The Catholic Encyclopedia was published in 1914. Any attempts to contact the authors from beyond the grave would be difficult.

Kinda sounds like if that is true, then those of us that were cut as babies were damned by our parents. Extremely scary if that is the case. I never put two and two together in the "do not cut or otherwise mark your bodies" and circumcision. But here is an even bigger brain fracker, what about therapeutic surgeries? You know like appendectomies, heart surgery, etc. If you take the do not cut to heart we are all screwed!!

There are whole sects who believe just that. Reject all human interventions.
