I have a deep interest in ethnic music. Actually, one of my favorite genres of music is gamelan from Indonesia, specifically Balinese gamelan.

I know of another kind of gamelan from Javanese.

Gamelan is a kind of music from Indonesia involving gongs, bells, drums and bells, but it's most famous for its metalophones. (Instruments made of metal that are struck.)

There are noted differences in Javanese and Balinese gamelan, namely that while Javanese gamelan tends to be slow and meditative, Balinese gamelan tends to be fast and shimmering.

Balinese gamelan tends to start off quite quickly, being fast and flashy from the start. This kind phenomenon is known as "kebyar," which means in the local language, to "burst into flames.

I really love kebyar. Here is an example of it. It's crazy!

Dances also accompany this music which also tends to be flashy.

I was hoping to hear what Yunus had to say of music in his country (I think he said he was from Indonesia?).

There are other genres (Indonesia has TONS of genres, but gamelan is probably my most favorite). Could you tell us about the music in your area, Yunus?

There are so many music instrument in my country like "gamelan","angklung",etc.

Oh,yeah,I liked Bali so much,I wanna to go to Bali next vacation.

Bali is the base of Hinduism. So,Bali has average to low rate of male circumcision.
Bali's circumcision rate isn't as high as circumcision rate in Java & Sumatra because Java & Sumatra island is the base of Islam & population.Java & Sumatra island supplied the highest number of male circumcision rate.

Oh yeah, there is an interesting kind of circumcision ritual called "sifon" in Nusa island.
The procedures of circumcision are "traditional circumcision" and then "intercourse with female after a few minutes or hours of circumcision".

But,"sifon" is a barbaric & immoral practice too like other kinds of circumcision,of course.

It is interesting to me how Hinduism exists in India and in a place so far away and disconected and tiny as Bali.

Bali has some interesting takes on Hinduism... I would like to see the Barong dance up close...

As for circumcision, I was wondering what the situation was like in Bali, seeing as the dominant religion there is Balinese Hinduism...

Despite circumcision, I really also like Arabic music, and some music associated with Islam. I know of an older muscian named Rohma Irama, and I like his style of music. :-)

Oh,Rhoma Irama's musics have "dangdut" genre. He was the king of "dangdut" some years ago while Michael Jackson was the king of pop. :D

I disliked "dangdut" genre & Arabic musics. :)

The well-known traditional food in my environment is "rujak".
"Rujak Cingur" is a special kind of "rujak" in East Java.
