I just had a big argument with a friend of mine over circumcision, and I have to vent. Thanks fort putting up with me.

So, a little bit on him. He is a fetishist. He loves butchered cocks. I resent having mine cut off, as most on this site are too. He hates muslims. Thinks that they all have a potential to kill until there are none left, and that religion itself is violent...except whe it comes to their practice of circumcision. The he throws out them as an argument for it, as if they're his greatest allies. He is a semitophile. Not to sound anti-semitic, but he is totally enamored with Jewish culture, yiddish, and especially their practice of routine circumcision.

I won't bore you with his rationales, since we've all heard them numerous times. Let's just say the non-sequiturs of...

Europeans think we're barbaric for doing this...they killed 6 million jews.

Tonsilectomies, vaccinations, apendectomies on children without consent.

cleanliness me:How hard is it to get a boy to play with his cock in the shower?.. Him: I know I'm clean, and I'd rather not wash it 4 times a day.

Him: I've had almost fainting spell orgasms, if it feels any better with one, then I couldn't handle it.

Africa/AIDS study, penile cancer, infections, babies don't feel anything...the list goes on what he said.

Then he made some comments that I frankly find VERY insulting.

He asked if I've had trouble with feeling, and I said all my life. Without asking in what way, or for details, he just concluded that it's mostly in my mind. If I'd been allowed to explain that I've never been able to feel anything more than a basic touch wearing a condom, and have always had to bring myself to climax manually, it probably wouldnt've made a a damn bit of difference in what he thinks.

He told me that none of my life's problems are from me having my foreskin removed as an infant, and this is a ridiculous issue to waste time on. In other words...he wanted me to shut up, admit he's right, bow before his superior intellect, because I'm just an irrational mental infant having a pity party.

Once I bring up the fact that nowhere else in the industrialized world practices RIC, he ignores that and tries to make the connection between me (and by extension intactivists themselves) are akin to the loud minor vocal minorities that want creationism taught in science classes, because they can bring up just as many "scientists" to support their idea that the world is only 6000 years old, who pursue that goal fanatically. I threw that back at him saying that he's right. That the USA is the last modern country in the world who performs RIC, and we are trying to tell the rest of the world, who don't, whats best for them.

In bringing up muslim/jewish religious customs, he asked if I would ever expect those countries to ban the practice. I told him I had no idea, but that I did read somewhere about a year ago that practice is on the wane in Israel, although I didn't quantify it, since I don't reaally know by how much. He said, and I quote..."Hooo-Kay. Now I think I'm talking to The Michigan Militia now. There is no way. We're just on an impasse here..." We hung up on each other.

I was called irrational
I was told it's all in my head
Having a pity party
A member of a fanatical cult
A white separatist
And a liar
...by someone who I thought was a friend. Is he really?

I have told 2 of my older brothers that I want to restore my foreskin. They have laughed it off and told me how they think foreskin looks ugly, and all that. I thought they would be more supportive. Oh well, I guess the hardest thing to change in this world is someone else's mind... The only question left, is can we forgive the ignorance of a friend for the sake of a friendship?

I think that one reason that some people may react this way is "DENIAL". Psychologically, the truth is too hard to take. They want to believe, it is easier for them to believe that the their circumcised status is superior so they can put it behind them and not worry about it. Sometimes I get frustrated/depressed due to my circumcision and wished I remained ignorant -then I enjoy a great lovemaking session with newfound pleasures and I am so greatful that I am on the path to restoration.

Challenge your friend to where a skin cone for 24 hours a day for 3-4 weeks and to keep his glans moist with Eucerin lotion. Assuming he has an active sex life resume your discussion after the 3-4 week period. If that doesn't change his mind he is truely lost.

Some men become irrationally anti-restoration ("restoraphobic"?) because they simply cannot admit that their penises have been damaged. To do so is to attack their self-image as a man.

I have done workshops at men's weekends on both circumcision and on Improving Body Image, and one thing I point out is that every man needs to feel good about his penis and know its advantages and disadvantages. But for men who do not like the fact that they were circumcised, they need to know that nonsurgical foreskin restoration is an option (and, of course, to know how damaging RIC is so that it can be stopped).

I do not get into religious discussions, for (1) I do not want to be anti-semitic (Jewish or Muslim), and (2) every ethnic/religious group has its own family issues to work on (there are both Jewish and Muslim intactivists). We white males have plenty for us to work on; I will let other groups work on their own issues. (I have opinions on other groups' issues; I just don't share those opinions in public.)

The phobia against "anti-semitism" is part of the same lie that tells us circumcision is the way to go.

Do you think the special status of circumcision {as a religious rite} has nothing to do with its prevalence in this country? Of course it does.

Me and friend were talking about a year ago.. Sometime last summer.. We were both working and I was just giving out random information. I have alot of random facts in my head.. And we got to talking about the penis and circumcision. I brought up restoration and he was kinda the same as your friend.. He said, i dont need to regrow my foreskin.. My penis works just fine.. I said, yeah sex does feel great now.. Just imagine how it would feel with with twice as many nerve endings as what you might have now..

I showed him a video from google of a infant circumcision and since then he has changed his mind, but i dont think he would go for the restoration route.. Therefore, he knows nothing to what I am doing. The only Peron that knows is my girlfriend.
