I really hate with the quote of an Indonesia pro-circumcision website below.

Link : House of Circumcision - Benefit of Circumcision (http://www.rumahsunatan.com/_manfaatkhitan.php)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Smegma of the penis isn't dangerous for a male, but smegma could be dangerous for the woman who get intercourse with that male. Data from a medical journal said that smegma which is a dirt and has white-milk color could cause interference to the woman's uterus as his partner. It is because the dirt (smegma) could stimulate the happening of inflammation and infection at the cervix (the mouth of uterus).

What I knew is that this quote contained an old myth of circumcision benefit which isn't true. And also, they didn't tell about the source of their data from a medical journal.I think that they wanted to promote circumcision in Indonesia by spreading a lie to make the fear to the females about smegma.

I just knew that the data about this old myth is an expired data and has unclear result.

People promoting or selling circumcision often use outright lies like this.

A woman's vulva produces smegma in greater quantities than a man's foreskin. The substance consists of moisture from the mucous membranes combined with dead skin cells.

Its more than that there are also compounds in it that fight bacteria, viruses, etc. and there is some evidence the compounds fight HIV as well.

Its completely bizarre that one group requires preventative surgery while the other is treated with soap and water.

Not to mention, smegma is natural. It's probably less dangerous than artificial lube used by circumcised men.

Someone should ask how it is women take care of their smegma problem.

That would be interesting because they most likely don't know what Smegma is.

And every mammal on earth evolved a foreskin that requires no surgical correction or even soap and/or water. Sterile urine leaving the body flushes the normal foreskin to a hygenic state. Don't like that idea? Then wash. But you're not doing for health, anymore than using underarm deodorant is a for health. It's for social conformance.

Something is on my mind about the mammals smegma.

Every mammal has foreskin and smegma. They never wash the smegma under their foreskin. But,they did never get the disfunction especially cancer of their dick.I never heard that someone wash a mammal which is his/her pet foreskin from smegma in order to prevent penile cancer, etc for his/her pet.
Dog or cat as the example, did you ever hear that someone wash his/her dog or cat's foreskin from smegma?

I heard that "smegma may cause penile cancer" explanation was based on the study of mouse smegma which told that penile cancer on the mouse was caused by smegma (I forgot the source,so tell me the source if you know).

So,the smegma cautions were based on 1 study of a mammal type among so many mammal types which had no smegma problem.

Not to mention smegma is healthy.
"smegma" comes from the Greek meaning "unguent, soap, cleansing medicine." Far from being "dirty," smegma has antibacterial properties, especially in infants.

Well, based on my experience with dogs and cats, they wash themselves by licking. My dog occassionally seemed to be enjoying his cleaning quite a bit, too...

But the site clearly is not providing good information. And it is easy to say "...data from a medical journal...." But if they do not give a citation that would allow one to look it up and read the source material, it doesn't mean anything and could easily be a lie.
