Hey, I was wondering. I have just started a few weeks ago, and I don't really feel soreness so much as when I start to tug. Meaning it isn't just sore sitting there, just sore when I start to tug again. I am guessing this means I am doing it too hard (which I didn't think I was). or is it kinda normal for a little soreness?

Tugging may feel novel. It gives an unusual tension especially on the ligaments above the base of the penis if you're walking around tugging down the leg.

But you should not tolerate soreness. Gentle tension will grow new skin. Start at ZERO tension and only add a smidge of additional tension to your setup each day until you find getting through 4 straight hours starts to be a challenge. You should be able to forget you're wearing a properly fitted device.

But I am just tugging manually.... I am guessing still no soreness, right? I mean its not like I am pulling super hard, or "ripping it off" ha! Just kinda tugging sorta firmly. and the soreness comes and goes.

In my opinion, manual tugging wouls seem to naturally give rise to a short-interval high-stress regimen.

The idea of that scares me only because I know that low-stress long-duration grows healthy skin. High-stress would seem to have the potential to stretch nerve fibres more than they can handle.

{I'm moving this thread to Manual section}

Same advice for manual tugging. Start out with low tension and gradually add tension. I do not get sore from manual tugging. I apply enough tension for my skin to get taut. Then I add just a bit more tension.

Can you better define your soreness or what is causing it? Sometimes when my skin is really dry, my hands abrade my inner foreskin remnant. By paying attention to my body, I stop before my skin gets sore from the abrasion. This is really noticeable now that my inner foreskin has gotten more sensitive. If I tug in the shower or when my skin is wet, it does not irritate my inner foreskin.

Ron, do you have anything to support your fear of high-stress tugging? I have never encountered anything in the literature of tissue expansion that identifies nerve damage from high tension, at least not when there is no other tissue damage. My personal experience is that my expanded skin is growing more sensitive as it grows longer.

By high tension tugging I do not mean tugging so hard that it causes numbness. As noted here (http://foreskin-restoration.net/forum/showthread.php?p=29142#post29142), when restorers get overzealous and use waaay toooo much tension for too long, there is a risk of temporary numbness.

It wasn't like abraision or red or anything, just sore, like a bruise, but with out the color of a bruise.
