forgive me if this question has been asked before,
I have been stuck using a home made pud(1 1/16 socket). The results in just over a year have been great. However, as of late, sometimes I get sores on my glans. I think this is due to the socket rubbing against the glans. Sometimes I can even see the pattern of the socket teeth. Any one have any suggestions. Please don't tell me to buy Ron's weighted tugger(I would love to). But due to my heavy construction job i cannot wear a tugger at work(I do wear his tugger at home). Any modifications or suggestions for something else to use. I would love to buy the real deal, but I have fundsalo (my funds are low for those of you who missed that). Thanks again for the input.
Stay strong keep tugging and we will all get back what God intended.

Have you tried some sort of barrier between your glans and the socket?
What is the socket made out of? And surface deterioration compared to when you bought it?
What type of sores are you talking about? Can you describe them in more detail and tell us how long they last and how you get rid of them? How long does it take before they appear?
How is it that the socket didn't stay against your glans before, but does now? Seems like the opposite would be the case, or it has always been against your glans?

No I have not tried a barrier. The socket is a standard hardware grade chromed steel socket. Some rust has formed from time to time but I clean it with sandpaper to keep it smooth. I know it doesn't contact my glans all the time. But due to bending, stretching, climbing ladders, and just plain walking it does sometimes. The sores are small and red. It just feels like a slight abrasion. Usually I put Badger balm on it at night and they are gone by morning. Sometimes I have to take a day off. But I have learned to feel when they are starting and remove my pud for the day. I think I get them more often due to my glans being more sensitive and more used to coverage. It could be related to taping too tight(not leaving enough slack skin) and causing the glans to be too close to the socket. I dunno. Thanks for the reply

I have started to round the inside of the socket with a dremel tool. I'm hoping this helps. Maybe some of you have already done this. It kinda dawned on me after posting this

Many people get reactions to metals. Do some research on the metals used to wear in piercings. I am not saying I think this is the cause, just you should consider this body of knowledge and what it can teach us that may help.
Chrome plating on steel is potentially problematic for a couple reasons. First, chrome plating may cause a reaction by itself. Second, if rust is forming, then the metal surface is changing, chemically and physically. I do not think that rust is good thing to have against your mucous membranes. And rough surfaces can cause abrasion. Anytime rust is forming, the surface is rough. Any time plating is being eaten away, the surface is rough.
My suggestion to try a barrier was simply to isolate the problem. If it is a reaction to either the metal or the roughness, then a barrier would eliminate that. If it does, then you need to figrue out a solution that avoids contact with that particular socket. Coating it, buying a new one, using a condom or something over the socket, etc.
I use an insert made of silicon calking, the type used for aquariums. A tube costs about $5. I did experience "abrasions" with it until I figured out is was sticking to my skin, so began using lubricant. A little Astroglide Gel solved the problem. If you like the weight (my method involves tension from trapping the insert inside the skin, rather than weight creating tension) then you might be able to coat the socket with silicon. However, it may end up too wide.
I think I would ditch the socket if it is beginning to rust. Buying a new socket once a year doesn't sound too bad, cost wise. Do they make stainless steel sockets? Titanium?
I must confess, I am still unsure of how you are restoring, hard for me to envision how you put a socket inside your foreskin but it doesn't touch your glans....
I have detailed instructions for my method, if you are curious, that include tips for using silicon sealant to make inserts. Send me PM with your email and I will send them.

Hello Armcurls
I like a pud puller too and have experimented with all sorts. The manufactured ones are way too expensive. I have found the ideal device for me. It is a Bb Tuba Mouthpiece. I bought it off ebay for about $6. I use a baby's bottle feeder cap with the teet cut off, pull the new skin over the mouthpiece cup and hold it in place with the feeder bottle cap. The inside is smooth and I apply a little moisturising creme in there so my glans is comfortable and is softening. The mouthpiece is heavy and the shank is perfect to pee through, so I can leave it on for hours on end. I have attached a small O ring so I can add a bit more weight when I am at home. I have never had faster progress in nearly 5 years restoring. There is a picture at
