I started restoring a few months ago. About once a year, I get an outbreak of genital herpes. I get a few small tiny red bumps on my penis. I take some medication and it goes back into dormancy for another year (or more).

Then, I started restoring. About two months into the process, I had an outbreak, so of course I stopped tugging. I gave my penis a whole month to rest. Now, every time I tug (even very very very gently) for several hours, I get a rash or break out in the same spot. I can't tell if it's "herpes," and it doesn't necessarily look like my other usual outbreaks. It arises quickly and also goes away quickly (whereas sometimes herpes takes several weeks to fully disappear, versus a few days).

Does anybody with a medical background have any advice? I don't want to continue to be thwarted in my restoration process, and it's very disheartening to continue to produce a rash in the same spot every time I tug.

I do not have a medical background, but my understanding of herpes is that stress can cause it to re-emerge. I would chack with your doctor and ask about it. He may be abot to tell if it is herpes or another rash. In addition, he may have suggestions for medicine that could reduce the number of occurrences or how long they are active for. Bummer.

One thing to keep in mind. Your docotr will likely be clueless about restoring, so you will have to teach him and work with him until he understands it enough to ponder the possible interactions with herpes.

Best wishes

I think wats going on is that the herpes is infecting new nerve growth. This means that the restoration might be making new nerves for the hsv2 to infect...

Restoration does not make new nerves. however, i have heard it can "stretch" existing nerves.
