So in less than a week I'm heading to Florida for two weeks and I like to take my DTR but I don't know how airport security will handle it...thoughts?

Isn't it all nylon except for the screw? Nylon won't set off a metal detector. And depending on the size of the screw, that might not, either. A bra has metal hook/eye closures and you don't see every woman getting stopped b/c those hooks are setting it off.

I doubt the sensitivity of the detectors will be high enough pick up on that little screw. It's smaller than many metal buttons on pants. They have to keep it low enough to allow buttons, zippers, etc. I forgot to take my belt off at the last check and it has enough metal for like 30 of those screws, but it was just under the limit for the detector. They told me that when I passed through and said "ohh my belt".

Just my bit. And BTW, I was flying out from Houston.

I wear the TLC-X (which has a bunch of non-ferrous metal) through airport detectors without incident. I also always carry several sample tugging devices in my carry-on dop kit and "purse" and they have been visually inspected without comment.

Any worn method INCLUDING A SIMPLE TAPE RING or a Your-Skin Cone WILL be visible on these new full-body scans.

The best course is to be prepared to explain that you are wearing or carrying a post-surgical brace and if they need more details about your medical situation you will need some privacy, which they are prepared to give you without a huge ordeal.

So you would not recommend me to keep the TLC tugger in the hand-baggage, if I don't want anyone to find it?

I'm flying out from houston too... I was basically thinking of putting it in my check baggage? Would that work?

As far as I've seen, tugging devices do not resemble weapons. Personally, I'm not embarrassed and if asked, I'd tell them what it is. As Ron has said on many occasions, you can refer to it as a "post surgical brace", and I really don't think they'll need to know more than that for a little nylon/rubber/etc. contraption. If it's in your bag, I doubt they'd even ask.

Last year I went through with my CAT II on and my TLC in my carry on bag. No questions

I wasn't aware of this. Looks like I'll be answering to the question in a couple of weeks, hah.

I have worn my DTR with no issues as I don't believe there is any metal parts in it.
Been caught wearing a metal cockring at an airport which was a rather interesting situation!

Guys

Do you think I could put my metal PUD in my carry-on, or will they think it looks like a weapon?

If I put it in my checked baggage, do you think THAT would be seen as strange or as a weapon by someone?

I'm ok about not wearing the PUD thru security, but I don't want them to lose it and I would like to have it with me in my carry-on.

I wouldn't wear it because it would show up on the body scanners. Unless you don't mind having to go into an explanation and possibly having to disrobe in some security room to show it's not a threat. I don't think it would get any attention if placed in a carry on bag.

I fly every week and have wore a DILE insert through the metal detector without an issue over 50 times last year.
I have switched to a PUD and now carry it in my computer bag. In being screened and x-rayed over 50 times I have only been asked about it 3 times. Each time I simply told them it was a "foreskin restoration device"
if asked what that was I replied that I tape to my penis to grow new skin...ever time it was placed back in my bag and I was told to have a nice day. One guy said well I have never heard of that before so I know you are telling the truth.
I am always prepared to ask the male agent if HE is intact...but I have never had to do so. I have had several emailed between myself and the TSA center and spoken with the head of security of TSA in my hometown airport. He said he would have to resolve any alarm through a pat down inspection.....however he said that they are not allowed to pat down the genitals of any traveler under any circumstance. He did say that men with a Prince Albert or other genital piercing are given the chance to leave the secure area and remove the item then come back through security again.

So as of now...I carry my PUD in my computer bag...clear security and then go to the bathroom and tape it on.
As far as checked bags go you are fine. I carry handguns and other metal weapons without any issue in my checked baggage. pocket knives etc.
I do know however that a machete carry in a checked bag will not be allowed to go through.

Good Luck.

Guys

I'm gonna t-tape it for a few weeks and tug with a strap, the way I started out. No heavy PUD for a change. It's cool. I will tug in a different way and tug different skin. It's kind of necessary anyway.

Strap is slower, but also works, and works while sleeping or sitting, as I will be doing on a plane and on buses.
