My family is just now watching the movie Avatar at home, and I noticed that the villianous military leader says - at the start of the final assault: "I want this mission high and tight."

Yeah, but "high and tight" can also refer to a military-style crew cut (of hair, haha) I doubt they had circumcision styles in mind--most people wouldn't even know that terminology

I'm sure he just meant drop the bomb from up high, and focus so tightly and accurately on the target that there would be little actual engagement with hostiles.

On a tanget, did anyone else notice that Golum in Lord of the Rings appears uncircumcised?
There is a role model for you ...

Probably made the CGI characters "intact" to pass the MPAA, penises scare them! You can blow all the shit up you want, but god forbid you show an actual accurate penis.
I notices that to in Avatar and I remember thinking about the Hair cut. Then again James Cameron did make up a lot of slang for the movie, "Shave tale Looey" and "Fricken Daisy Cutters"???
Shave tale Looey -is about Civil war officers who just started riding horses so the would shave the tale of the horse to id the newbie, and give him extra room in case he messed up, and add slang for Lieutenant. Why mixed Military and Naval, I have no idea
and someone please find the meaning behind Daisy Cutters, though her lips didn't seem to fully match...

The daisy cutter is a slang term for a type of bomb designed for deforestation in order to clear landing zones for helicopters. I think the US has been using them lately to clear out caves in Afghanistan as well.

Just some more info abt that term as used in Military (esp Marine) hairstyles:

{mod: I added circumcision style to the Wiki on other uses of the term. We'll see how long that lasts.}

That's absurd. It belongs there. I guess it needed a citation from literature.
