Electrical tape would not be my first choice for starting out. I started with taping where I would pull the skin forward past the head of the glans and tape over the glans. Many guys would recommend either the 3M micropore or 3M Nexcare. I used the 3M Nexcare product for a short period of time before I moved to the TLC Tugger. Both products have great holding power while not being so strong you could risk a skin tear if too much tension was applied. The Nexcare product I used was waterproof and stock product #731(1"x180" roll. I made decent progress leaving it taped for extended periods of time. If you want to stick with taping for a season you may want to look into the T-Tape process of restoring to increase tension. You could also look into Ron Low's Packers to add tension if you wanted to keep taping over the packer.

Pick up yourself a copy of Jim Bigelow's "The joy of uncircumcising" which has detailed instructions for basic methods like the pill tube and taping. For $10 you get a great resource with great insight into restoration and some of the basics. You would support a great organization and get alot of information in a single resource. The other option would be to register and hang out with all of us and get all the help you need!

You do need tension to create growth. What you are doing is considered retaining. This is good for gaining sensitivity in the mucosa between the scar and the glans, and the glans itself. I retain every night with my TLC Tugger on, but no tension applied. Every day, I apply tension with an elastic strap attached to my tugger. Initially, you may loosen up your skin by retaining, but unless you tension the skin further by means of a device, manual tugging, or some form of the t-taping method, you will not trigger mitosis at a faster rate than normal.

I don't recommend electrical tape. For a while, I used medical tape with the film canister method as well as an alternative to the gripper that the CAT II comes with. The tape I used was Johnson & Johnson medical tape. Look in the band-aid section at your local grocery store, and choose a medical tape of your liking. Which ever brand you choose, will surely be better than electrical tape. Hope it goes well, and welcome to the forum.

Tension is the key to growing foreskin. I am not sure if electrical tape is safe for use on skin. You do not need to keep tension on for that long, though some do.

You should read more about taping. Your technique dfoes not sound optimal for putting tension on your foreskin to promote growth. there are many detailed resources that explain t-taping. You can read about the t-tape strips and insert method that I use in the methods section of this forum. Look under methods>>taping, then look for the sticky called Greg's t-tape strips and insert method.

Details are important in this endeavor.

I've used athletic tape for about 9 months now. The only issue is that it dries out the skin occasionally and makes it itchy.
