I was reading this thread on mothering forum and found it so moving.

For me, I think the biggest source of my anger is society's denial that violence was inflicted on me as a child. To read these mothers sharing their anger, tears, and remorse, I feel like my loss is being acknowledged and validated. I think when a lot of us try to express ourselves there is only rage and despair. It's comforting that we're not alone in the fight, that the other victims of this violent practice grieve with us as well, and bring fierce maternal love and protectiveness into the battle.
