Welcome. Hope you will get answers to your questions.
First of all, each individual has his own goal, which may be different from the one you seek. I have not yet reach my goal, although I have been restoring conscientiously for almost four years (foreskin can be a long term project if extensive tissue was excised, and the restorer is old).
The new skin has nerves like the rest of the shaft skin, though not the kinds which were in the original foreskin. If you are circumcised, the inner mucosa and the glans become more sensitive after a period of coverage.
At the stage I reached, the new skin rolls over spontaneously, as soon as I bend or sit down, and then stays that way. During the night, nocturnal erections cause the skin to retract, and many restorers use tape or a device to keep the glans covered.
On this site, there are many restorers who are further along and will be glad to answer your inquiries. If you are serious about foreskin restoration, do not wait long: it takes less time to reach your goal when you are young.

We are merely expanding the surviving skin until there is enough of it so it can act like a foreskin. Most beleive the count of specialized pleasure-receptive nerve endings does not change. The surviving nerve endings WILL work much better once your mucosa is covered and once you have enough slack for the skin to slink around.

How the skin behaves is just a function of how much skin-tube length you grow:
- If you get to where you can temporarily force the skin to cover 100% of the glans while you're erect, you might be able to catch a glimpse of your skin staying over the glans in a covering state long enough to walk a bit or snap a photo.
- When you can make the skin temporarily reach over the whole glans plus extend past the tip by another 50% of your glans length (we call that 150% Forced Erect Coverage (http://http://foreskin-restoration.net/forum/showpost.php?p=13490&postcount=1)) then you might be able to walk around in a covered state indefinitely until you get erect, or get through a whole doctor's exam looking intact (let him/her think you were never cut).
- When your skin can reach to 200% FEC you might be able to get through a whole night's sleep with no device and wake up covered despite nocturnal erections.

These are just ballpark numbers to illustrate the impact of the goal you set and attain.

You'll start to experience the gliding feeling of the skin slinking around to some degree pretty quickly. I don't know if it ever gets to a point where it would go from being retracted off the glans to rolling over the glans into a covering state all on its own - under its own weight, so to speak. In fact I hope this never happens to me. I'm carefully trying to make sure (http://foreskin-restoration.net/forum/showpost.php?p=45822&postcount=44)the puckered area of skin acting as the tip of my skin tube while flaccid is so snug (http://foreskin-restoration.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2470)that it would never clear the corona without assistance, which is to say I want a mild form of paraphimosis.
