To those of you who are well along in your restoration:

Have you noticed that having a restored foreskin has improved your mental abilities, for example, increased your intelligence, perceptiveness, or expanded your general consciousness?

It definately has expanded my consciousness. I now realize how much glorious pleasure exists within the human body. This has deepened my sense of the beauty in the natural world and enhanced my spirituality.

The tradeoff, is that I am constantly angered at the procirc society and tradition.

I guess that every gift comes at a cost....

I doubt restoring directly changes someone's mental prowess.

I think having a hobby like intactivism that requires vigilence, passion, making a persuasive case, interacting with people, etc, can help keep one sharper than the same amount of time spent watching soap operas would.

I think it can have the effect of opening your eyes to a damage that occurred you weren't aware of, and whenever you become more aware of something done to you (like molestation), it's ability to harrang your thinking is decreased. By this you become a clearer thinker and unencumbered in the fog of ignorance and trauma.

I gained psychic and telekinetic powers.

You did, because you read my mind about the direction this thread was going. :)

Frankly, I cannot say that restoration in itself has any effect on my mental capabilities. But being able to express my personal feelings without the fear of being labeled as a weirdo, has certainly made me a more open and outgoing person.
Best regards,
freddys.

After I started using the DTR, I could fly. Just like uncut people.

Restorers are already smarter than average.

Not there yet but I know that before my circumcision I had full control of my mental faculties whereas now I have a whole host of problems - very short temper, antisocial/isolationist, unable to retain a job, unable to maintain a relationship, complete lack of empathy for anyone whose problems I see as lesser than my own, complete lack of motivation to do anything but drink, lack of pride in personal appearance, inability to concentrate.

Oh and when I see a beautiful woman I don't think "she's hot" I scream internally "WHYYY MEEEE????"

I don't think that tugging has any effect on one's IQ, however, if we were to say that it greatly improves one's IQ, that still wouldn't hold a candle to the outrageous claims made by the pro-circ groups.

Really? i got super strength and invulnerability. It must be because I'm only doing manual. we should start our own super team, now we need to think up a name. HAHAHA, :D

but really, restoring doesn't increase your IQ. although i have noticed as i see progress my self image improves.

I hear that.

Yeah, can't say it seems to have effected my mental abilities: 'cept for the period of near-constant sex/masturbation that followed dekeratinization (mind got pretty fuzzy for awhile haha).

Definitely changed my perception of men, women, sexual attraction, etc. Never understood before while all the Mexican and European guys (I live in California) were so enthralled with beautiful women.. :o

Nor, for that matter, why women were so particular and sensitive in bed. Being able to relate to that has made me a far more sensitive lover, independent of any improvement in the mechanics of sex... :)

But intelligence...eh. If there's any direct effect, I think it's a mild negative from increased everyday sexual excitation.

I think restorers have better than average intelligence to start with. Seriously. They recognize the problem (they dismiss the pro-circ claims, and aren't in denial about harm), find out that there is at least a partial solution (even though it's not widely known), work hard to improve the situation, join with like minded positive men who are on the same program, and hopefully spread the word about the harm caused by circumcision.

I don't see a correlation between foreskin restoration and general intelligence. By that I mean mathematics and science. However, in there are many forms of intelligence out there so in terms of situational intelligence I'd say that it could help. The process of foreskin restoration can help one improve in areas of life that require the ability to get by tough situations and solve problems where there is no choice but to accept the problems and deal with them. If you go through life having to deal with something that you have to accept on this scale, it can have a greater effect on you than normal. For example, those who have faced slavery know how to deal with similar problems for the rest of their lives. Similarly, many of us who have to face the harms of circumcision, will know how to deal with similar problems later on. I believe that there is something to gain out of this. It is possible to improve our self-concept and be more intelligent in every day situations. If we dealt with male genital mutilation, we can deal with anything.

I've been studying a difficult language for the past several years with off and on again frequency. My last intensive block of immersion training was a year ago, not long after I had just begun the journey of restoring. As we speak, I'm back in the middle of yet another immersion class, but all of a sudden, I'm truly understanding what I'm hearing better than ever, with a whole lot less struggle and frustration than I've been dealing with since practically day one.

(Your mileage may vary, of course, but that's my contribution for anecdotal evidence.)

Totally relate to everything you said there. I was cut as an adult too.

Hang on in there, keep on restoring. I have no doubt that eventually you will regain your pride.

I just can't wait to have coverage again; for me it's all about dignity.

Anecdotal evidence: Look at the spelling, vocabulary, and grammar used on this board, and compare it Yahoo Answers, bodybuilding.com, or BabyCenter .

I think we're doing well =).
