Alright, how many of you intactivist/restorers out there are tech-savvy and would be willing to commit time and help manage, edit, admin. etc. an intactivist wiki?

Here's the deal:

One of the biggest setbacks for intactivists is that, even though we're supposed to be living in an age of information, much of the world is in the dark concerning circumcision, the foreskin, its functions and the proper development of normal, natural, intact, anatomically correct genitalia.

American textbooks speak little about the foreskin and its functions, if at all. They usually picture the penis as circumcised, and if the foreskin is mentioned at all (almost NEVER pictured), it is described something along the lines of "that extra bit of skin that is removed during circumcision."

The most med students ever learn about the foreskin is how to cut it off. Accounts from people who run booths at AAP/CDC gatherings tell us that a lot of med students gobble up pamphlets on circumcision and the foreskin, because most admit that the topic is rarely covered, if at all.

To indict parents, it is more often than not said that "the information is out there if they'd only look." But I don't think people realize how much parents have to dig with all the misinformation that's out there, esp. if they live in a predominantly circumcising area. If you go to Barnes and Noble, for example, most pregnancy books are pro-circ. If you google "circumcision" online, you're more often than not, going to see pro-circ websites first.

As guys on here may already know, WikiPedia has been hi-jacked by a certain known circumfetishist, pro-circumcision advocate, and tech-savy WikiPedia editor who has managed to find a niche from where to purport the pro-circ message. Because this person has been a Wiki editor for so long, he knows all the ins and outs of WikiPedia, including all the technicallities that make it possible for him to delete any edits he wants, even those with concrete sources, while leaving his own biased information up.

This person at WikiPedia is a problem, because aside from being a tech-savvy editor, he is a favorite at WikiPedia, making it very difficult for others to oust him as the biased, one-sided circumfetishist that he is, even with concrete proof. Some have tried to oust him by bringing presenting the evidence against him, only to be blocked from WikiPedia and have their IP addresses blocked. We need to find a way, possibly getting intactivist lawyers involved, to have the person in question ousted and removed from WikiPedia.

The reality is that ousting you-know-who is something that is not going to happen any time soon.

To make things worse, it sounds like the only other alternative to WikiPedia which was an intactivist Wiki has been taken down indefinitely because the wiki host (I believe it was Wikia?) did not want to deal with Josh Haskins' mother. (She is fighting to have her son's name deleted from pages that list deaths due to circumcision.)

I have talked with other intactivists, and we have agreed that probably the best solution would be to host an intactivist wiki on one of our own domains, first and foremost to keep biased pro-circumfetishists, and second, to keep the Wiki from being deleted for being "inappropriate." I believe we've probably got to start thinking ourselves on the level of WikiLeaks: We've got information, and there's people that want to make it next to impossible, if not criminal, to publish information.

So here's the deal: Me and a few other intactivists that I've talked to think that it would great idea if we could get our own Wiki on our own domain, possibly one outside the US, and get a bunch of intactivists who are net-savvy, experienced in wiki-editing to help get this Wiki off the ground, manage it, possibly admin for etc.

So who's interested in working on this project? Who would be interested in devoting time to creating and realizing possibly the most ultimate of intactivist databases?

The wiki would include links to studies, links to resources, evidence that debunks all the latest pseudo-science, etc. It would serve as a one-stop database for anyone wishing to research the subject. People would get ALL of the information, because its removal would not be subject to the discretion of an obsessive-compulsive, biased, pro-circumcisionist with an agenda.

If anybody reading this a techie, knows his/her ways around computers, servers, web hosting, web-authoring, esp. Wiki editing, and is interested in becoming part of a group of intactivists that want to realize this project, please send me a private message. If you KNOW of somebody like this, please tell him/her about it.

There's a black-out on information regarding circumcision, the foreskin, its functions and the proper development of correct human anatomy, and it's time that we intactivists DID something about it.

Let me know!

Y'all have a great new year!

I could have something up on app engine in a few hours, but I'm not sure why we need to scorn hateful women and list the dead. We have plenty of less personal facts on our side.

This isn't a wiki, but I've been working on this page (https://wholemanproject.jottit.com) for a few days. I'll put anything you want there. The idea is that instead of debunking the same arguments over again, we can just link to a section of a well-formatted, firm-but-not-too-angry master list of arguments, with a printable version for taping up IRL. It still needs a few references.

Who is scorning anybody?

The fact is that this child bled for 7 hours before doctors finally decided to stitch him up.

The child had already withstood two or more other surgeries, he was in a delicate condition, the doctors insisted they do the circumcision ASAP, and the child died.

No one is scorning this woman, but facts are facts, and they need to be presented unhampered. If she didn't want every detail of her son's death on the net, then she shouldn't have posted it in her blog.

The circumcision death rate is hard to pinpoint, and it's because of collusion like this to cover up the facts.

Anyway, we've tried asking the wiki host to give us back the intactivist wiki and we'd remove the names in question, but as of yet, no answer.

But Jill Haskins is the least of our troubles; it's the circumfetishist gate-keeper at WikiPedia who's the bigger problem we're trying to get around.

The idea is that instead of debunking the same arguments over again, we can just link to a section of a well-formatted, firm-but-not-too-angry master list of arguments.

That's kind of the idea behind a wiki:

A master list of resources for everyone and anyone to look up.

We also want to make it informative, so we also want people who can fact-check and edit what can't be referenced to a concrete source.

wholemansoon: I hope I can count on you to help out with the wiki once we get it set up...

BTW, not that I think your project is a bad idea, I just think that a bunch of random pockets of intactivist info here and there is what we're trying to avoid.

A webpage limited to updates to when and if the editor has time is kind of a drawback IMO.

A wiki will let anyone with info to upload it on the fly, so that it's always being updated.

It looks as though things are coming together though, and soon we'll have our own wiki on one of our own domains.

I'll keep everyone posted.

This is it. This is the round-house to the heart-strings. This is all you need. You don't need their names.

Ah, yes, she shouldn't have posted it in her blog. But the first time somebody asks us to remove their name from our site, let's do so before giving them any reason to get our accounts suspended, agreed? We can try to keep using their story without any identifying details if they'll let us, and we can try going to our service provider before the claimant, but let's try not to burn too many bridges.

I moved my page to Google Sites:
https://sites.google.com/site/intactivism/
You can use a DNS CNAME to forward one of your domains to that site.

I just need your gmail address to let you edit it. It doesn't have to be your primary address (wholemansoon obviously isn't my primary). You can make as many gmail accounts as you want, and I can show you how to forward one gmail inbox to another email address.

I think an intactivist wiki is a wonderful idea and I'd definitely be there to help contribute and maintain it.

I've actually gotten together with a couple of other intactivists willing to do this, and a wiki will be up pretty soon.

I'll announce it on here when it is so people can start contributing if they want...

Stay tuned!
