My wife and I are going to have a baby. We are researching self-directed birth/water birth so as to make it easier for the mother and baby. This will also conveniently keep the baby safe from doctor-induced trouble. :)

I had an unmedicated hospital birth with my daughter, then we decided on a homebirth for our son. (But still a "dry land" birth... we had no space to put a temporary tub and our actual tub was way too small, lol.)

Also a fun fact says that epidurals during pregnancy may harm the baby and cause birth defects so you may wanna look into that as well as natural birthing/home birthing. You may have heard this before, but squatting is usually the best position to give birth in. Less distance for the baby to travel and gravity will help things along :)

Congratulations! My third was a water birth and they call it the liquid epidural for a reason. It really helped.
