I have always been able to retract the foreskin fine flaccid (so no problems with hygiene) and even when erect I can retract it over the head without too much effort. However, there has always been this mild sensation of tightness once pulled back. It seems that when moving the skin down and then up again it gets a bit stuck underneath the glans. When this happens I have to manually apply a bit of pressure to push the skin over the head again.

This issue hasn’t affected sexual intercourse too much as the skin is nearly always in a fixed position (stuck behind the glans). However, during masturbation the issue is much more prominent. If I try to move the skin up and down normally the same situation occurs with the skin become stuck. This means I have to masturbate with the skin forward for it to be comfortable. (If that makes sense)

Obviously the above issue explained means that the skin doesn’t glide back and fourth easily like it should, with some degree of tightness / restriction involved. I have tried to diagnose the problem myself but I find it too difficult. About two years ago I queried the issue with my GP Doctor and he simply said to try applying Vaseline and gentle “stretching exercises”. The only result I saw after a few weeks was that the skin was baggy / saggy but still had that tight sensation.

Although "paraphimosis" best fits the description of my issue, it is described on the Internet as being much more severe. In my case, there isn’t really any pain or signs of swelling and it certainly doesn’t feel like the blood flow is cut off, simply a feeling of restriction / mild tightness.
In addition to the above, I thought that it might be my frenulum that was causing the restriction but I am unsure. Could a problem with your frenulum (for example being too short) be the cause of the issue I described?

If you have taken the time to read this I would be ever so greatful to here some form of feedback. This problem of mine has been troubling me long enough and I wish this to be solved and forgotten about.
Kind Regards

There is such a thing as a short frenulum, sometimes known as "frenulum breve." My guess is that it would cause the tight feeling, no matter how loose the opening of the foreskin would be. I would think the solution would be just to stretch the frenulum, sort of like what you were doing with the rest of the skin, but by pulling it forward (sort of like with foreskin restoration, I'd assume).

If nothing works and after a while it becomes a problem for you, there are surgical operations to sever the frenulum or loosen the skin - but circumcision wouldn't be necessary.

Never do any surgery. It's natural, and correct masturbation techniques, ointments and gentle stretching will fix your situation without severing thousands of nerve endings.

That's not unusual. Your doctor is right. You can do gentle stretching exercises to loosen the tight area to accomodate your ample corona. Did s/he give you Betamethasone ointment for thinning and stretching out the skin? You mentioned weeks and some results, but such exercises are typically done for 3 to 6 months. You need to do them on a schedule and be consistent.

I have to masturbate with the skin forward for it to be comfortable.

That's not unusual. Keeping the skin over the glans is quite common.

I thought that it might be my frenulum that was causing the restriction but I am unsure.

I think you would be quite aware if it was due to frenulum breve.

Most people would like to have a qausi-tight foreskin. No surgery IMUO.

There are plenty of guys suffering from the negative effects of their circumcision who would love to have the luxury of the problem you have.

You may want to read up on "Triple incision plasty (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1626197)".

It's the most invasive treatment ever needed, even for the very worst cases of phimosis. That is, if your problem isn't related to a Frenulum breve.

So, if all else (e.g. stretching) fails, the basic tenet still applies: Circumcision is (almost?) never medically necessary or justified.
