Hey all, just want to pick everyone's brains. Anyone else ever get random, unexplainable pain in the testicles?
Imagine someone kicking you in the nuts HARD! out of the blue. That sorta pain.
I've had this since I was 16/17 and have been checked by doctors repeatedly. (No obvious cause was found.)
Just wondered if anyone else has this curse and has any pointers for better dealing with it.
My doc would just give me low level pain pills (Ibuprofen) so I no longer bother going about this. I got tired of pills and used to use the comfort of my good buddy Jack Daniels to deal with that, however I stopped drinking a few months ago for various reasons and with the pain returning I'm open to suggestions.

Standard procedure would be a testicular ultrasound by a urologist.

I've had 2 testicular ultrasounds performed maybe a year or more apart. - One was done initially and came back clear. The second was done when I found a small lump on my right testicle, it was found to be a harmless cyst and nothing else abnormal was found.
I'm not looking for a diagnosis as asking for one via the net is nigh impossible and I doubt one can be found. I've begun to accept that short of having my testicles removed I'll likely have to live with this.
The pain is not constant, it comes and goes, sometimes with months between occurrences. I'm mostly just wondering if anyone else has this and knows any ways to help deal with it short of getting pilled up.

I had something similar to this. For no apparent reason my left testicle began to swell. It became the size of a tennis ball. Initially, I thought I was turning into some kind of a super stud, but no such luck. I had a small lump on the testicle and possibly epididymitis. Antibiotics cleared things up, but after the swelling went down the testicle was only half the original size. The only problem I have now is that the testicle is very sensitive if handled roughly. A surgeon told me he could easily remove the testicle when I had bilateral hernia repair several years ago, but I declined. I would have opted for this, but I wanted a prosthetic implant and none of the surgeons in my area had ever done an implant before.
I also had an ultrasound and they could find nothing wrong. I suspect there is some kind of nerve damage, but I have no way of knowing.

I was chatting with a guy earlier this year who lately had been dealing with recurring testicular pain that doctors couldn't diagnose. After seeing several, he finally got someone who figured it was related to an inguinal hernia. I haven't chatted with him since then, but would hope that they were able to finally help him.
I don't know if this may be one of those conditions where the diagnosis can sometimes be missed - you may even know more about it than I do. But if the problem doesn't lie within the testicles or scrotum, this could be a possibility.

Nerve damage... that's something I was hoping not to hear. I have for a while been wondering about something, and if it is to blame for this I think I'm going to need to see a therapist to keep me from killing my parents as they'll be to blame.
I was raised in a religious home and by virtue of that taught that masturbation was wrong. Maybe by their doing, or maybe by virtue of my own nature as a kid I believed it was akin to the sin of Onan - look it up if you are unfamiliar with it. So when I masturbated I felt guilty, but I found that if I held firmly around the base of my penis during orgasm thus restricting the flow of my cum and letting it ooze out later the guilt was less. At the time I had no idea that it was harmful and I did that for quite a few years....
I had of late been wondering if that it had caused some deeply rooted damage, but I doubt they could exactly test for it or do much about it.

I had an episode fo pain in my left tesiticle that lasted for a day or two a number of years ago. That prompted a visit to a urologist. I assume you have been evaluated by a urologist, but in case you have not, what he said was interesting. He said no one ever comes to him complaining of pain in their prostate. My pain was due to benign enlargment of my prostate. There were other, morte subtle symptoms related to urinating. Since then I had several surgical treatments, with good success.
I have had some episodes of pain since then. They have been shorter term and I expect they are due to my prostate removal as things adjust and recover slowly.
Do you masturbate or have sex regularly and frequently? Being turned on for long periods of time without release can cause pain in testicles, based on my experience. For me it is more of a dull ache that does not last long, but just a thought.

I have not been to a urologist yet, in the past I went to see my GP. Though I am considering asking for a referral to one some time soon.
I tend to masturbate every few days if not daily. I'm quite familiar with "blue balls" as orgasm denial is one of my kinks.

I have found GPs to be not very good at specialist knowledge. I would suggest you get to a competent Urologist without delay, as well as read up on prostate problems.

See a urologist for sure. You don't want anything serious to be overlooked down there.
I quite often have testicular pain. Sometimes just a subtle discomfort, sometimes more serious and aching, as if I had been kicked in the balls. I went to a urologist as a teenager when the pain started, and the doctor told me that my issue was caused by slightly large testicles. My testicles are a bit larger than normal, thus heavier, and cause a lot of tension and inflammation in the tube that carries the sperm. The doc's solution was to just wear more supportive underwear when I had discomfort. That's pretty much kept the pain at bay since I was a teenager. It's difficult to manage this and tugging at the same time, which may account for my slow progress.
Point being, you may not have the issue I have, but it could be something simple like this. Your best bet is to get it checked out.
