View Full Version : Discrimination against males

I believe that, despite the common view that only females are marginalised, males are discriminated against on a rather large scale. The following encompasses some of my opinions regarding this:

1) Circumcision of baby boys, unless medically necessary, is genital mutilation, plain and simple. This topic isn't much discussed here in Ireland because Irish boys generally aren't circumcised, as Irish Catholicism considers it an archaic and backward practice, but in America it seems rather common. I don't know why. The whole idea just seems really odd to me, as an Irishman, and if any doctor circumcised my baby boy I'd probably beat him to a pulp. The foreskin is the most sensitive part of the penis and your son has every right to full sexual pleasure when he gets older; 2) The courts discriminate against fathers and their inherent right to spend just as much time with their children as the child's mother does; men are not heartless robots: most of them love their offspring, want to be fathers to them, and have every right to be with their child as much as his/her mother does; 3) Men are not automatically born as indestructible machines; men are obviously physically stronger than women, but level-headed men do not seek out physical fights and do not want to be gladiators: to expect a man to be a raging unbeatable fighter is discriminatory, plain and simple; 4) The education system discriminates against boys. Healthy young boys inherently love to wildly run around, break things, and horse play. To insist on their sitting in a classroom for ~7 hours a day listening to (generally) a woman, who is not their mother, feeding them largely pointless and faulty knowledge, is an infringement of human rights and often ruins the beauty of childhood.

I shall leave my rant there. I could write a tome on this topic, but I thought I'd just post it as it is anyway. Please note that this is not a misogynistic post. I love and respect intelligent women, but I have encountered many confused women who seem to hate men, not to mention the confused men who almost seem guilty of being themselves.

I'm not interested in hearing what anybody from a White Nationalist website has to say.

I agree with the sentiment, but I am uncomfortable with the source. Indeed, even those who disagree though will have points of agreement; and this seems to be a good example of that.

Those of us here for a time though know that while in USA it is illegal to genitally mutilate female children, that practise is widespread to male children. And on this front, most of us are united to make it illegal for both male and female children. What they later choose to do as adults it up to them.

Beyond this; while there is evidence that there is discrimination of men in other settings; that really isn't why we're here is it?
