Default Interviews with Psychiatrists

I would be interested to hear first hand accounts of interviews with psychiatrists about circumcision and foreskin restoration. I am particularly interested in their reactions.

Do you mean people from the forum talking to those in the psychiatrist or what? Also why did you leave out psychologist they are basically the same thing minus the ability to prescribe you medications???

In particular, the reactions of professional psychiatrists (and psychologists if appropriate) to individual men (from anywhere) who during therapy say they have been damaged by circumcision.

I really want to bring this up with my psychiatrist but I become very inarticulate when trying to talk about the issue (due to anger I guess). Any suggestions for one page printout that sums up the whole "perhaps circumcision might have something to do with my long standing depression and anxiety"?

Write it in your words. Don't worry about making it perfect, just get your thoughts down. If it is too difficult to do all at once, do it over a number of sessions. When you have the main points articulated, show it to your therapist.

In my mind, all you are trying to do is get the thoughts and feelings out in the open for dicussion.

Regards

peterpink, if helpful, see psychologist Ronald Goldman's Circumcision Resource Center. http://www.circumcision.org/ and psychological impact, http://www.circumcision.org/impact.htm. Also his book Circumcision: The Hidden Trauma.
