my home town was just hit with another 'storm of the century' ... the second in about 2 weeks.
this one hit during Big Valley Jamboree, the biggest country music festival in the world, which we host here every year. 1 dead, 4 in critical condition, dozens injured when the stage collapsed/flipped due to extreme high winds.

there were some gorey pictures of people being pulled from the wreckage including one of the singers up yesterday on the edmonton journal site, but they have since been pulled.
It was generally crazy. No power for hours throughout the whole city, the cell network was out, helicopters could not land at the site due to wreckage and pandemonium.
there was very minor damage to our property. i tried to take some videos to put up on youtube but the storm was here and gone too quick to get the biggest, nastiest part of the storm on tape. All I got was some heavy rain. I am disappointed with the lack of footage on youtube but the same thing happened to everyone out there; everyone was either running for their lives and the storm was just here and gone too quick to get decent footage while it was bearing down on everyone.
