Default FGM in Britain

Just read this article from the Guardian a few days ago. Shocking and horrifying! I thought that we guys had it bad but, this was just utterly disturbing to read.

It isn't just about female circumcision, but, forced female circumcision and in some cases, sewing the labia almost completely closed to "preserve the girl for marriage".

Now, I believe in waiting until marriage but, who the heck gets off thinking that sewing their daughter shut would help this?

Awful, disturbing and nasty. Those are the only words I can use to describe it.
