This has probably been asked again and again but I'll repeat the question.
I got my DTR in the mail today. I am too tight to start using the dual tension so he recommended tugging with it. I'm going to go on a tugging regimen then, and also do manual to add a little extra dimension, and then when I have enough I will switch to dual tension. Anyway this question applies to all forms of tugging or pulling How much is too much? How tight should I tug, how many minutes at a time should I pull? (How much is safe?). How often can I do it? I know I need rest in between, because it's like that with everything with the body. I just don't want to be over-conservative and over-limiting myself when I could be making more progress faster. These are good questions, and there is no one right answer, there is still debate over these things. And you will need the answers to these questions when you use the dual tension, too, btw.
My regimen is as follows. I apply tension 4 days a week. I apply it for 3-6 hours each day. The tension is enough to feel as though I have reached the elastic limit of my skin, but it does not hurt. There is some discomfort at first, but in a few minutes I can forget I have anything on. After a session of tension, I have some slight redness and swelling. this goes away after a couple days of rest. I would argue that there is no need for more than an hour or so of tension each day. That is all manual tuggers do and they make great progress. Tension is tension, after all. The key is to figure out what works for you. You need to experiment. Try something and keep doing it consistently for a few weeks. Are you making progress? Good, keep doing that. Not making progress, or want to see if you can make better progress? Try making an adjustment and do that for a few weeks. How did that work? If you are planning on doing manual, assisited with the DTR, or manula alone, there is a lot of information in the methods section on manual. Basically you will hold tension for a few minutes, then release, move to another area and repeat. A lot of maunal tuggers seem to do around 20 minutes or so a couple times a day, as well as at odd monemnts during the day, like when taking a bathroom break. Regards
