To be true to the educational aspect of your nursing career, you really should post a follow-up comment on how misleading you've been in both your post title, and your introductory statement of "...this, where they are repairing damaged nerves." I assume you read your own link, so where does it state "they" (whoever "they" are; certainly not the medical practitioners community) are repairing damaged nerves? The article content is simple enough: initial experimentation has begun in the earliest stages of one component of a technique. Nobody, no analog model, no rat, and certainly no human, thus far have had anything "repaired".
I know that good nurses are aware of their educational limitations and are quick to explain this to those who are under the common misunderstanding that nurses represent medicine, particularly when they attempt to interpret an article such as this for the lay understanding. I would hope you are one of the good nurses.
