The perineum, also called "the taint", is the area from the base of the penis to the anus. In Alfred Kinsey's 1967 report on human sexuality, it is described as one of the 6 main erotic zones of the male and female body. I'm not sure what you mean by pulsating, however. Flexing the PC muscles will give you a pleasant feeling in that area.

Have it checked out as soon as possible. If it's not muscle spasm, then there is the potential for it being something much worse. See a physician.

I concur. This is a major electrical junction in the human body.

Yep, I get the pulsing perineum at a certain point during arousal. If I'm lucky. Usually in the early stages.
I also get it a bit when my GSX750 hits 6,500 rpm. Oooh. |

The longer my restored foreskin becomes the more intense the feelings around my glans becomes. Number one reason for restoring. Number two reason normal appearance.
On most nights like other men I have several nocturnal erections. And like most men these erections are not sexual. My foreskin is able to stretch and leaves just the tip of the meatus showing (90%?). However the other night I was lying on my side and my PC muscle started to pulsate and twitch - this had the immediate effect of giving me a hardon and moving my glans up and down inside its foreskin. The feeling was extremely intense and extremely statisfying. I normally don't precum but my groin was covered. (In fact I never have - something I'm disappointed about) I didn't fully cum but felt like I had. I've heard of men (truth or fiction) who have been able to orgasm just by moving their PC mustle. Maybe I've been able to join their ranks? Just out of interest - how many others don't precum? |

Back to the thread: a pulsation can be a number of things, but at least one of them can be serious; that's why I said what I said. In medicine a "pulsatile mass" usually means a serious problem with an artery acutely developed, or an long brewing vascular anomaly.
Because all you doctors out there haven't ruled this out, maybe one that's licensed, and there on the scene, ought to. Just sayin' |

Distalero, what side effects would this problem present, if any? Warmth, pain, swelling? Or is it asymptomatic?

The only thing I can add to distalero's concern is that the perineum is an accupuncture point that if blocked- and this arterial problems -can present concerns. Just as a note, Chinese docs massage the perineum as a method of resussitation, which indicates it's importance. It can also work in reverse. It is a vital point.
But then again, if you've got a nice butt-plug up your ass and a cockring on, and your girl licks your taint and tweaks your nipples, you might get a pulsating effect that is quite pleasant. And when she swallows your glans your ejaculation will pulse your asshole electromagnetically like the devil's own. Just sayin. |

There can be an actual palpated (felt by touch) mass formed by whatever, a malformation of blood vessels, an aneurysm, even a mass with high vascularity (not so good, this one), or you can just feel a pulsing with no mass. Having said that, it could be muscle spasm, but you would want to know why that's happening as well. Rough rule of thumb, if it's new, concerning enough to ask a bunch of strangers, then asking a guy who's trained and there to put his hand on it (hopefully not with a simultaneous leer and wagging of an eyebrow ) is the best thing to do. |
