Default HIV in SoCal Porn Industry

Check it out guys:

Yet, no talk of circumcision. What are they talking about? Condoms, condoms, condoms!

http://www.xbiznewswire.com/view.php?id=109198

Maybe it's because there's no one to circumcise? But will they highlight the fact that being circumcised fails?

No.

What a remarkable silence!

Nice call. This provides a good point to be made.

This just shows what a lie it is that circumcision has a place in preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS.

It is very sad that these performers, who are so criticised by society yet give so much pleasure at the risk to their own health, should suffer. I am impressed by what some can achieve! (This is my genuine belief, not a sarcastic comment).

However, 22 cases in 5 years does not even compare to the deaths from over-hyped swine influenza, normal influenza deaths or malaria deaths.

Every effort should be made to trace the source and isolate from the industry those affected. While fit and well, those with HIV/AIDS may even wish to continue work in their own group, but that will probably draw criticism. Future use of condoms is one solution which should not be seen to detract from the quality of the final film.

I heard this report and one particular discussion actually prompted me to write this as a thread, but I'll post it here:

Nina Hartley (aging porn star) called in with the most remarkable input. The discussion was whether the porn industry should start using condoms and the general response was no, because this is a form of fantasy sex and people don't want to see condoms in fantasy depiction. That in itself wasn't surprising. They offered that the average porn scene takes 2 hours to film and with this kind of use, condoms cause "rubber-burn", making the sex painful. She then said that right now, performers get tested once every 30 days. Another guy added if you went into the average bar and tested everybody (full), about 15% would be carrying some STD, where in the industry 7% carry something, so it's a safer group than the general pop. Another lady disputed this, but then Hartley made a remarkable insider remark. She said that if they DID wear condoms, less people would get tested regularly and, with the 2hr scenes, more women would suffer tears from all the condom use, thus exposing them to greater susceptibility to STD's. I thought that was a surprisingly astute pro observation that reflects the old "Dont mistake the map for the territory" wisdom, and how reality often has many unexpected demensions that sexually repressive people don't count on or account for in their efforts to be "right". Made me think of Africa.

John Holms knew he had AIDS, and simply went overseas where people didn't know about his condition so he could continue doing porn. He probably infected a lot of people doing that.

Talking Re: HIV in SoCal Porn Industry

I meant people with HIV/AIDS making films with others with HIV/AIDS, but Nina Hartley knows far more than I ever will on the subject.

For what it's worth, I watched a video from the University of Texas at Houston, and two of the research doctors there stated that they believe they have found a cure for HIV. They said that (what ever it is) works in the lab every time and they think it will in humans as well.

Here is a link to the video that I watched. It does look very promising. Lets keep our fingers crossed on this one. Don't know if I'm suppose to post a link here, or not. Please, forgive if I am in violation.
