Hello! I've been restoring now for about 5 weeks now with the DTR with a Conform pusher. What I was wondering is how much tension do you guys use? Should I feel like my skin is being stretched, to the point where it feels like a drum skin? Should it just be until I feel a bit of tension?
I have very elastic skin, so I'm not really sure how much tension I should be using. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

I apply the device to freshly washed skin.
I put a very small amount of cream to the area where the pusher plate touches the inner skin (where the inner skin meets the glans). I feel this prevents the pusher from 'sticking' to the inner skin and allows for a more even tension. I tension using the set screw as much as I can, then let it settle, give the whole set-up a gentle twist/wiggle, and then re-tension further. If you want very high tension you can stand facing a wall and push in the rod by leaning forward, but be careful not to overdo it. When I tap the skin it makes a sound like a drum. I am assured this is a sign that the tension is in the right ball-park. I have recently started applying a velcro strap gently around the middle of the skin while under tension and this feels like it increases the tension somewhat. I do this gently as too much and I feel it 'biting' a bit. They say that it shouldn't hurt but I find that any discomfort at the beginning soon disappears. I'd say if it doesn't go away after a few minutes then the tension is too high. I have recently started apply 100% Emu Oil to my skin at night and find it is more elastic and I am better able to apply higher tension without discomfort. This is the official page on the subject at the producers website: http://www.foreskinrestore.com/tension.html |

Thanks for the feedback! What type of cream do you use? I've been using a drop of vitamin E oil to help with the sticking. Unfortunately, I find that, while it makes it easier to apply more tension to the DTR, it also means that the gripper doesn't hold very well at higher tensions. I've taken to using the double-grip method, which definitely helps but still doesn't quite hold. I'm sure that the people at work think I have a bladder problem since I tend to go to the restroom about once an hour (although I do drink a lot of water)

You shouldn't apply any cream or oil to the skin that's going under the gripper. I would apply it to clean freshly washed skin.
I only put any cream I have (currently E45) just around the inner skin right next to where it meets the glans. |
